(Ephesians 5:8)
Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!
We must always return to Rome in our minds and hearts; it is the one and only vantage point from which one can look down and discover all things.

Letter from His Excellency Louis-Sylvain Robin, Bishop of Blois after his appointment
“Tours, December 2, 1945
My Reverend and dear Father,
Please forgive me for taking so long to thank you. I wanted to take my time to tell you again, but this time with great emotion, how grateful I am to you, my dear and revered Father, for the good you did for my soul during the seven years I was your seminarian.
I received a great deal at the French Seminary. The best that I have, I owe to the seminary – and it is you, Father, who gave the French Seminary the best it has: deep ecclesiastical knowledge, the interior life, a spirit of apostolate where doctrine holds the first place, a sense of the Church, love of the Pope and the bishops, integrity of spirit and conduct, and above all, simple, smiling, understanding charity; I learned all this in YOUR beloved seminary… And the liturgical life that the good Father Haegy instilled in me! And the initiatives for which you gave your blessing, my dear Father, without crushing my overactive nature, teaching me only to channel it and supernaturalize it… If I have worked so hard for twenty-four years, I owe it to the guidance I received from you and your influence on all those around you.
I would like to write you many more pages, for I cannot tell you everything about what Santa Chiara meant to me – its good Superior, its directors, its dear, very dear seminarians.
I will be ordained on January 18. It will be cold in the Cathedral of Saint-Gatien, where Saint Martin was ordained… There is a long road between where you live and the cathedral… but I would be overjoyed if you could come? I hardly dare to hope, but my heart is bold. Pray for me, dear Father, at the Holy Altar. You who helped me prepare to be a priest, how your prayers will help me become a bishop! Tell all my colleagues who express their fraternal sympathy that I am very grateful to them. And keep for yourself, dear and venerable Father, the best of my gratitude and respectful affection.
†Louis, Bishop-elect of Blois.”
