An infinite love

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

God watches over us, God watches over us. He is the great guardian of all the nights—and of the terrible nights within us; the nights of the intellect, the nights of the heart, the nights of the flesh, the nights of evil whose darkness descends at every hour upon suffering humanity. Who can say with what love He watches over us? This love has a name and a quality. It’s an infinite love.

Vladimir Ghika (1873-1954)
Romanian Prelate

“One day, while I was in a shop in Paris, a man I didn’t know handed me my book on Saint Joseph and asked me to sign it. He was standing in the shadows, and his voice had a singular sweetness: as of a violet speaking in solitude. I understood that he only wanted my signature and that he would gladly have kept his name to himself, but I asked him for it. Hesitating, he replied: “I am Prince Vladimir Ghika.” He thanked me with a very humble nod, which, even more than a royal origin, suggested a divine source: as the well beside which the weary Jesus sat, thirsty. Then he withdrew.”
