“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

Bad grammar is cured by grammar, spelling mistakes by spelling practice, the fear of reading by reading, that of not understanding by immersion in the text, and the habit of not reflecting by a calm reinforcement of the reason, limited to an object that occupies us here and now, in this class, during this particular hour, for as long as we are here.

“Each student plays his instrument, and there is no need to go aginst this. The tricky part is learning to know our musicians well and to find harmony. A good class is not a regiment marching in step; it is an orchestra playing the same symphony. And if you have been given the little triangle that can only do ting-ting or the Jew’s harp that can only do bloing-bloing, what is important is that they do it at the right moment and as best as possible; that they become an excellent triangle, an irreproachable jew’s harp; and that they be proud of the quality that their contribution confers on the whole. As the taste for harmony helps them to progress, the little triangle, too, will begin to know music; perhaps not as brilliantly as the first violin, but it will know music.”
