If only I had studied!

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

“Do something, or do nothing. Whatever you decide to do, do it with ardor, throw yourself into it, and let the ensemble of your activity be a series of strong recoveries. Half-work, which is half-rest, is favorable for neither rest nor study.”

Révérend Père SERTILLANGES (1863–1948)
Dominican

“Oh! Lord! If only I had studied during the time of my crazy youth, and had dedicated myself to a life well-lived, I’d have had a house and a soft bed, But no! I fled school, like a naughty child; and in writing these words, my heart breaks.”

François VILLON (1431-after 1463)
Poet
