Is this not her mission?

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

Nothing can grow again except if it be from homes – from fathers, from mothers and children. There alone life can flourish, in all its delicacy, in all its strength.

“France, daughter of laborers, mother of knights and priests, relentlessly set on asserting herself, but ready to give of herself at the drop of a hat; France, who has a deep sense of community while desiring autonomy, who more than another other nation has a respect for life, but who is likewise ready to pay the ultimate price – it will be the mission of France, both peasant and mystic, to renew, to re-teach the world reason, human tenderness, and grandeur. Is it not her mission today to reconcile the growth of technology and the growth of nature, a mechanized world with our natural alliance to the earth? When we see how the world is turning, how from east to west, north to south man is once again turning into a wolf for other men, we start thinking that the Eldest Daughter might want to remind the planet what life could be, that she might rediscover in this calling the strength that she had in her youth. If only she could just see it, and all would be set in motion.”
