It Is Good to Be Alive!

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

«“The souls of the little children of France are well worth all the sacrifices made on their behalf.” »,(To the Dominicans of the Holy Name of Jesus)

Saint PIE X (1835-1914)
Giuseppe Sarto, pope from 1903 to 1914

« “It is necessary to teach children, before they even take off on their journey, that the world can be beautiful, that joy is so beautiful – that even in hard times, they may know how to greet the dawn of the new day with bright eyes, with a positive outlook—and, at least at Christmas, that they have faith in the coming year. Later they will learn what pain is, they will learn the meaning of suffering, without which there is no nobility, and friendship, perhaps even better than joy. But the first thing to know is that it is good to be alive.” », in The Christmas Wheat.
