The Church is singing

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

“When a school springs up, the church sings.”

Reverend Father de CHIVRÉ (1902-1984)
Dominican

How delightful and terrible everything was at school! It was terrible not to know one’s lesson, not to find the solution of a problem. But what a source of joy in a lesson you had understood, in the beautiful books, in striped and squared notebooks, adorned on the first page with an image which is an embossed bunch of roses, or forget-me-nots, or the head of an angel between two wings. My most precious treasure was a geography atlas. Its large and smooth pages show all the earth. It is beautiful, multicoloured, and bathed in the blue water. I think that everything belongs to Russia.”
