What your children are begging of you

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

“It might happen that Catholic doctrine and discipline are walls; in that case, they are the walls of a playground.”

CHESTERTON (1874-1936)
Journalist, poet, biographer, defender of Christianity

“May you be attentive to the supplication which Jesus Christ addresses to you in the soul of your children. May you have not only enough affection and imagination but especially enough Faith to understand what your children are begging of you. We want to know what we are and why we were created, what this world is that we live in, and if we should follow or oppose it and what testimony we ought to give to it; what battles we will have to undergo tomorrow and how to be armed for them ahead of time. We want to know if it is true that women have a mission desired even by God, and if it is worth sacrificing ourselves to answer the call.”

Father CALMEL (1914-1975)
Dominican
