“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

“Sing as the voyager sings—but walk. Do not cultivate laziness; sing to sustain your effort! Sing and walk! What does it mean to walk? Go forward, go forward doing good. Others progress in evil. You, go forward and walk, but go forward doing good, go forward in good faith, go forward in purity of life—without losing your way, without turning back, without stumbling—sing and walk!”

“In the family, what is important is not precepts, admonitions, advice or reproaches, but the interior atmosphere, the atmosphere of the home, the ambiance that composes the character of its inhabitants, the virtues that are practiced or neglected, the traditions that are formed, the relations that the home maintains, and above all the relation between the parents, their mutual understanding, their cooperation in the work of education, their agreement and their collaboration in the manifestations of social life, both inside and out.” in The Personality of the Child and Education, p. 90 – 91.
