(Ephesians 5:8)
Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!
Pray to Saint Joseph and he will never abandon you as you follow your path… those who suffer truly have something worthy to offer God…
St. Brother André Bessette (1845-1937)
Lay Brother of the Congregation of the Holy Cross and builder of the largest sanctuary ever dedicated to St. Joseph
“His sanctity came from the heart of his mother, who sought to make her children heirs of Heaven even from the cradle. Virtuous, gentle, hardworking, little Alfred’s mother […] taught him to pronounce the names of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph at the same time as Mommy and Daddy, and he came to associate, in his child’s mind, the love of his earthly family with that of Heaven. […] Who can explain [Brother André’s] exceptional influence and fame among so many millions of people? Each day the sick, the poor, the disabled, the suffering and the downtrodden came to speak with him in the little parlor at the Collège de Notre-Dame, and later, at the Oratory. There, by his own hand, they were warmly received and found comfort and faith in God, trust in St. Joseph’s powerful intercession, and the path to prayer and the sacraments. And just as often, on top of these graces, people also found healing for their physical and moral suffering.”
Henri-Paul Bergeron (1911-1987)
Congregation of the Holy Cross
