Living Well and Rightly

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

“Here is the secret to sanctity: firstly, joy. That which troubles you or robs you of your peace is not from the Lord. Secondly, work and prayer. Do your duty of state and pray often. But do not do it out of ambition or to be praised. Do it for the love of God. Do good to others. Sanctity is all of this.”

Saint John BOSCO (1815-1888)
Priest, founder of the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, outstanding educator

“He who lives well and rightly in order to win heaven, will be a leader that draws others along the right road, a force which protects, an audacity which revives, a goodness which loves and consoles.”

Mother Helen JAMET (1902-1982)
Teaching Dominican of the Holy Name of Jesus
