This Infinite Art

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

“I ask God, for your child, the grace of going through time without losing sight of the eternity of his origin and his end.”

GUSTAVE THIBON
Philosopher (1903 – 2001)

“We must raise children in a certain liberty which respects their spontaneity. Indeed, to develop originality, children need not to be stifled but to be opened up. They need their energies to be not compressed but disciplined. In short, they need the educator to treat them a bit as the grace of God treats the hearts of men, with the patience, the wisdom, the constant vigilance, the infinite art of seizing the occasion, which succeed in freely bending our wills to the divine plan.”, in Pédagogie d’un saint, p. 140.

FR. AUGUSTIN-FERNAND AUFFRAY
Salesian priest, man of letters (1881 – 1955)
