Play your hearts

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

“Avid young people, there are two ways to win at cards: to play your hearts or to cheat. To cheat is hard; a cheater is caught and beaten. To play your hearts is simple, you just need to have some…that is it. If you don’t think that you have any hearts, then you are not looking at your cards well enough.”

Jean COCTEAU (1889-1963)

“Savior, save the world: it is for this that You came. Restore all Your works: it is for that reason that You have manifested Yourself to me, to the Magi, and to all creation. See, the Magi, to whom You have shown the light of Your face, are at Your feet and bring You useful, beautiful and much sought after presents. I need them, because I am leaving for Egypt with You, and fleeing with You and for You, O my son, my guide, You who created me, You who made me rich, my little infant, God of all ages!”

Romanos le MÉLODE (493-560)
